How your result is calculated
- GPA = sum of (course grade points × course units) ÷ sum of course units, over completed courses with a grade recorded that were taken under the relevant program.
- Fail (F), Failed Hurdle (FH) and Withdraw Fail (WF) each count as 1.5 grade points.
- Withdraw – Not Fail (W), non-graded courses (PNG, FNG) and audit enrolments (AS) are left out.
- Published GPAs are truncated (not rounded) to two decimal places.
- Students who transitioned from the University of Adelaide or the University of South Australia had their GPA recalculated with this method for courses completed at their foundation university (including courses completed in 2025 or concluding in early 2026); a degree completed at a foundation university in 2025 is not recalculated, and no student's GPA goes down.
- WAM = sum of (course grade % × course units) ÷ sum of course units, over completed courses with a grade recorded that were taken under the relevant program.
- Failed courses count with their percentage mark; a Failed Hurdle (FH) counts as 49.
- Withdrawals (W and WF), non-graded courses (PNG, FNG) and audit enrolments are left out.
- Published WAMs are truncated (not rounded) to two decimal places.
- Honours programs are classified from an honours WAM set by the program rules: 80–100 First Class (H1), 70–79 Second Class (H2A), 60–69 Second Class (H2B), 50–59 Third Class (H3), 49 or below no honours classification.
