Rules the calculator follows
  • Theory components of courses with more than 10 students are graded relatively (class mean and standard deviation; S also needs at least 90% of the total). The mark ranges shown are the absolute grading used for laboratory, project, soft-skill and similar courses and for classes of 10 or fewer.
  • F and N carry zero grade points; the course must be registered and cleared again.
  • GPA = Σ(credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits registered in the semester (after add/drop/withdrawal).
  • CGPA is the same credit-weighted average over every course registered since the first semester, including courses with an F grade; a course failed more than once, or substituted, is counted only once.
  • Pass-Fail (P) courses, audit courses (U) and courses taken towards a Minor or Honours are not counted in GPA or CGPA; withdrawn courses (W) are left out.
  • GPA and CGPA are rounded up to two decimal places.
