- The entrance test is the AU computer-based test (AU-CBT). You can take it more than once; merit uses your best score.
- You can register once you have passed FA/FSc Part-I.
- If you have completed HSSC, you need at least 60% marks for engineering programmes.
- Instead of the AU test you can use NAT-IE, NAT-ICS, USAT-E, USAT-CS or the entry test of UET Lahore, NED, MUET, NUST or ETEA, with a score of at least 50 obtained within one year of AU's admission closing date.
- If you are in the final year of A Level, you are evaluated on your O Level equivalence marks and enter A Level marks at the 60% eligibility level (660/1100), then submit the A Level equivalence within 15 days of your result.

How is the AU aggregate calculated?
SSC / equivalent counts 10%, HSSC / equivalent counts 50%, Entrance test (AU-CBT) counts 40%. Each part is converted to a percentage of its maximum marks and multiplied by its weight.
Is this the official AU merit?
No. OpenCGPA is independent. It applies the weights AU published for Fall 2026 admissions; merit lists and closing aggregates are set by AU.
