Rules the calculator follows
  • Theory and other courses with more than 30 passing students are graded relatively, so the mark ranges shown apply only to absolute grading: laboratory courses, project work and internship, and courses with 30 or fewer passing students.
  • A course is passed with at least 50% of the total marks and at least 45% in the end-semester examination; grades O to C are passing grades.
  • U grades are excluded when GPA and CGPA are calculated; only courses successfully cleared are counted.
  • Only courses of the curriculum count in GPA and CGPA; for students who complete B.E./B.Tech. (Hons) or a Minor, the grades of the six additional courses are also counted in CGPA.

SGPA is the average of your grade points weighted by credits: multiply each course's credits by the grade point for your grade, add these up, and divide by the total credits. Under Regulations 2021, O carries 10 grade points on a 10-point scale.
