How your result is calculated
- GPA = honor points (grade point value × semester hours) ÷ net hours, using only the grades A+ to E; other grades (W, X, Y, etc.) are not included.
- Although A+ carries 4.33, the cumulative GPA is capped at 4.00.
- GPAs are rounded to the nearest hundredth.
- EN, EU and XE (and E1–E5, E8) are equivalent to E (0.00) for GPA purposes.
- An undergraduate course with a grade of D or E (including EU, EN and XE) may be repeated only once; to delete the D or E from GPA calculations the course must be repeated at ASU. Grade adjustments are processed automatically after grades are reported each term.
- Students who have graduated cannot delete the grade of a course taken before the ASU bachelor's degree was awarded; generally a course with C or higher may not be repeated for credit.
- P (pass) and Y (satisfactory) earn hours but are not used in computing the GPA.
- An undergraduate I (incomplete) not completed within one calendar year automatically becomes E.
