How your result is calculated
- Grades are relative: the instructor awards them on overall performance compared with others taking the same course, so there are no fixed marks ranges.
- A course counts as cleared when you obtain any letter grade in it, including E.
- CGPA = Σ (units × grade point) ÷ Σ units, over all courses with letter grades since entry.
- Non-letter grades (for example Good/Poor for seminars, Satisfactory for audit courses) and reports such as I, GA, W, RC, RRA, DP and NC are not grades and do not enter the CGPA.
- When a course is taken again and a new grade is obtained, it replaces the earlier grade in the CGPA.
- Integrated first degree divisions: Distinction for CGPA 9.00 or more, First Division for 7.00 to below 9.00, Second Division for 4.50 to below 7.00.
