How your result is calculated
CBCSS UG 2019 students (2019 admissions onwards): total percentage of marks from the CGPA, and a semester's percentage from its SGPA.

- Grades are given on the total of internal (20%) and external (80%) marks. A pass (P) needs 35% in aggregate and at least 20% in the external evaluation; there is no separate internal minimum.
- F, I (incomplete) and Ab (absent) carry 0 grade points and mean the course is failed.
- SGPA = sum of credit points of all courses in the semester ÷ total credits in that semester.
- If a course is failed, the SGPA and CGPA are consolidated only after the course is passed (P or better) in a later attempt.
- CGPA = total credit points obtained in six semesters ÷ total credits (120).
- Audit (ability enhancement) courses and extra credits are not counted in SGPA or CGPA.
- SGPA and CGPA are rounded off to three decimal places.
- The overall programme grade follows the CGPA: O 9.5–10, A+ 8.5–9.49, A 7.5–8.49, B+ 6.5–7.49, B 5.5–6.49, C 4.5–5.49, P 3.5–4.49.
- Grades are given on the total of internal (30%) and external (70%) marks. A pass (P) needs 35% in aggregate and at least 30% in the external evaluation.
- F and Ab (absent) carry 0 grade points.
- SGPA = Σ(credits × grade point) ÷ Σ credits of all courses taken in the semester.
- CGPA = sum of credit points of all courses ÷ total credits: 133 for the three-year degree, 177 for the four-year degree.
- Audit courses are graded pass or fail without credits.
