How your result is calculated
- Grades are relative: total marks are converted to grades using a normal distribution, so there are no fixed marks ranges.
- Less than 35% of the class's highest marks means grade F; more than 50% of the highest marks cannot get F.
- E (missed the end-semester exam), F (fail) and I (attendance below 75%) carry 0 grade points.
- CGPA is the credit-weighted average of the grade points of all grades since entry.
- A UG degree needs a CGPA of at least 4.50.

How is CU SGPA calculated?
SGPA is the average of your grade points weighted by credits: multiply each course's credits by the grade point for your grade, add these up, and divide by the total credits. Under Credit and grade point system (relative grading), A+ carries 10 grade points on a 10-point scale.
How is CU CGPA calculated?
CGPA is the average of the grade points of all courses taken so far, weighted by credits.

No. OpenCGPA is independent and not affiliated with Chandigarh University. It applies the rules published in CU's own documents, linked on this page. Your official result is the one on your grade card.
