B.Tech. and B.Tech. (Evening) from the 2015–16 admission batch, and all other DTU programmes from the 2017–18 batch. DTU calls this a notional conversion; for employment, a CGPA of 6.0 or above counts as first division.

Rules the calculator follows
  • Grades are relative, set from the class mean (x̄) and standard deviation (σ): O from x̄ + 1.5σ, A+ from x̄ + σ, A from x̄ + 0.5σ, B+ from x̄, B from x̄ − 0.5σ and C from x̄ − σ.
  • Each cut-off is the formula value or 91% (O), 82% (A+), 73% (A), 64% (B+), 55% (B) or 46% (C), whichever is lower; P needs at least 35 marks and below 35 is F.
  • In a subject with up to 30 students, grades are based on the actual marks on the percentage scale instead of the formula.
  • Total marks out of 100 are rounded off once, on the higher side.
  • SGPA counts every registered course, with F at 0 points.
  • CGPA = Σ (credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits over the courses passed with P or better up to that semester; F grades are left out of the CGPA.
  • I (Incomplete) is temporary and is replaced by a regular grade after the make-up examination.
  • CGPA 8.0 and above: First Division with Distinction; CGPA between 6.0 and 8.0: First Division.
