How your result is calculated
- Hazara University uses absolute grading: 80% and above earns 4.00, and each whole percentage from 50% to 79% has its own grade point (50% = 1.0, rising 0.1 per mark to 79% = 3.9). Below 50% is F.
- Letter grades: A+ 90% and above, A 85–89%, A- 80–84%, B+ 76–79%, B 73–75%, B- 70–72%, C+ 66–69%, C 63–65%, C- 60–62%, D+ 58–59%, D 50–57%, F below 50%.
- The minimum pass mark in each course is 50% (1.0 grade point).
- A withdrawn course (W) has no effect on the GPA or CGPA; withdrawing after the 12th week gives an F, which counts in the GPA.
- A course graded F must be repeated, and an undergraduate may repeat a course graded below C (C- or lower). When an alternate course is taken for improvement, both grades appear on the transcript and only the better one counts in the CGPA.
- A semester GPA below 2.00 means probation (at most 12 credit hours); below 2.00 for two consecutive semesters means removal from the roll. A BS degree needs a CGPA of at least 2.
