- The intermediate component uses FSc Part-1 marks; DAE holders use their 3-year aggregate marks.
- IST does not conduct its own entry test: you can use NAT (NAT-IE/NAT-ICS), USAT-E/USAT-CS, NUST NET, UET Lahore ECAT, UET Peshawar ETEA, the MUET or NED engineering entry tests, or ACT, and use your higher score.

How is the IST aggregate calculated?
Matric / equivalent counts 20%, FSc Part-1 or DAE (3-year aggregate) counts 40%, Entry test counts 40%. Each part is converted to a percentage of its maximum marks and multiplied by its weight.
Is this the official IST merit?
No. OpenCGPA is independent. It applies the weights IST published for Fall 2026 admissions; merit lists and closing aggregates are set by IST.
