How your result is calculated
Converting a KUET undergraduate CGPA (B.Sc. Eng./BURP, 2.20 to 4.00) into a percentage of marks.

- GPA of a term = Σ(credits × grade point) ÷ Σ credits over the courses passed in that term; CGPA uses the same sum over all courses passed from the first term onward.
- F grades are not counted in the GPA or CGPA, but they stay permanently on the grade sheet and transcript.
- Only courses graded D or higher count as earned credits.
- A core course graded F must be repeated; an optional course graded F may be repeated or replaced by a substitute course. A repeated backlog course previously graded F can earn no grade better than B+.
- A course graded D may be repeated for grade improvement if the CGPA falls below 2.20; the new grade is awarded, or the previous grade is kept if the student fails. Courses graded C or better cannot be repeated for improvement.
- Absence from a term final examination results in an F (unless the student has withdrawn from the term).
- Non-credit courses are not counted in the GPA or CGPA and are shown as S (satisfactory) or U (unsatisfactory). X marks continuous assessment in courses that run over two terms; W is withdrawal and I is incomplete.
- GPA and CGPA are rounded to two decimal places.
- The minimum CGPA for a B.Sc. Eng. or BURP degree is 2.20, with at least 160 credits; a student whose GPA or CGPA falls below 2.20 may be placed on academic probation.
- The degree is awarded with Honors for a CGPA of 3.75 or better.
