CGPA
CGPA = Σ (Credit points × Grade point) over all courses ÷ Σ Credit points
Rules the calculator follows
  • GPA = (7v + 6w + 5x + 4y + 0f) ÷ e, where v, w, x, y and f are the credit points gained at HD, D, Cr, P and F, and e is the total credit points for which you were effectively enrolled, excluding units with W or S.
  • Only units completed at Macquarie towards the course count; credit points granted through recognition of prior learning or non-award study are not included.
  • The GPA was replaced by the Weighted Average Mark (WAM) from 1 January 2020.
  • GPA = (4w + 3x + 2y + 0f) ÷ e, where w is the credit points gained at HD and D, x at Cr, y at P and f at F, and e is the total credit points for which you were effectively enrolled, excluding units with W or S.
  • HD and D both carry 4 points on this scale.
  • For GPA methods before 2011, Macquarie's Policy Unit holds archived versions of the Assessment Policy.
