Rules the calculator follows
  • A fraction of a mark in a course counts as one full mark (64.1 or 64.9 becomes 65) before the grade is read from the table.
  • To pass a course you need grade D (50% marks) overall across the mid-term, final-term and sessional work.
  • A course with F counts as 0 grade points in the semester GPA.
  • The CGPA is worked out directly from the grade points of all courses, weighted by credit hours, not from the semester GPAs.
  • W (withdrawal) and FW (forced withdrawal) are not counted in the GPA or CGPA.
  • The minimum CGPA for a 4- or 5-year bachelor's degree is 2.00.

How is PU GPA calculated?

GPA is the average of your grade points weighted by credits: multiply each course's credits by the grade point for your grade, add these up, and divide by the total credits. Under Semester Rules 2023 (undergraduate), A carries 4 grade points on a 4-point scale.

How is PU CGPA calculated?

CGPA is the average of the grade points of all courses taken so far, weighted by credits.
