How your result is calculated
- Each course carries 100 marks; a fraction of a mark is rounded to the nearest whole number before the grade is read from the table.
- Letter grades are given only for individual courses, not for the semester GPA or the CGPA.
- The CGPA is rounded to one decimal place, both for a student's current status and at the end of studies.
- The CGPA counts all courses registered up to that semester, including summer-session courses; courses transferred from another institution are not counted.
- A course graded D or C may be repeated to improve the CGPA, in no more than four courses in the whole programme; if the marks do not improve, the original marks stand. Failed compulsory courses must be repeated.
- A CGPA below 1.0 at the end of any semester ends enrolment; a CGPA of 1.0 or more but below 2.0 places the student on probation.
- The transcript also shows an overall percentage: the sum of (credit hours × % marks) for each registered course divided by the total credit hours of all registered courses.
