How your result is calculated
- GPA = (grade points × course units, summed) ÷ total units attempted in the period.
- Cumulative GPA: all courses attempted with grade points in your Career (Undergraduate or Undergraduate Online). Term GPA: one term. Academic year GPA: 1 September to 31 August. Plan GPA: the courses that count toward a Plan.
- If an exact course is repeated, the highest mark is used in the GPA. A course may normally be taken for a total of three completed attempts.
- Pass (P) is not included in the GPA; an F in a pass/fail course counts as 0.0.
- Personal Interest Credit (pass/fail chosen by the student): at most 6.00 units over the degree and one course per term; a grade of D- or better becomes P.
- CR, GD, IN, TR, AU, DR and NG are not included in the GPA. IN lapses to F, which counts in the GPA, if the work is not submitted by the end of the following term.
- Aegrotat grades are included in the GPA.
- Since January 7, 2014 the cumulative GPA no longer appears on the Queen's official transcript.
