Rules the calculator follows
  • The grade point is 2.00 at 50% and rises by 0.05 for every further 1% (60% = 2.50, 70% = 3.00, 80% = 3.50, 89% = 3.95); 90% and above earns 4.00 and below 50% is F (0.00).
  • Letter grades: A+ is 90% and above, A 80–89%, B 70–79%, C 60–69%, D 50–59% and F below 50%.
  • The final mark of each course is rounded off to the nearest whole number.
  • An F course must be repeated; the F stays on the transcript. If a failed elective is replaced by another course, the failed course is not counted in the CGPA once the replacement is passed.
  • To improve the CGPA you may repeat courses graded D, once each, up to five courses in a programme longer than two years; only the better grade counts in the CGPA.
  • A first-semester GPA below 1.70 means being dropped; a GPA/CGPA from 1.70 to below 2.00 means probation, and a CGPA of at least 2.00 is required for the degree.
