  • The intermediate component uses your Part-I marks; if you completed intermediate in 2023 or before, your Part-I result is still used.
  • Intermediate marks are adjusted: 10 marks are deducted for each additional attempt to pass or improve Part-I or Part-II (at most 20 in total), 10 marks are deducted if you took Mathematics as an additional subject, and a Hafiz-e-Quran who passes UET Peshawar's test gets 20 additional marks.
  • DAE holders: the 40% component is calculated from first- and second-year results. O/A Level: A(S) Level equivalence (IBCC) is used.
  • Pre-Medical candidates with Mathematics as an additional subject have their Biology marks replaced by Mathematics marks.
  • The ETEA paper for Pre-Engineering, Computer Science and DAE candidates has 100 one-mark MCQs; the Pre-Medical paper has 65 MCQs and 65 marks count as 100%. There is no negative marking, and you may submit your best result if you take the test more than once.
  • You need at least 60% unadjusted marks in intermediate (or DAE/B-Tech) to be eligible.
  • Ties are broken by Part-I marks, then by age (the older candidate first).
