How your result is calculated
- Term GPA = Σ (credits × grade point) ÷ Σ credits over the courses taken in the trimester/semester; CGPA is the same weighted average over all courses completed.
- A course graded D or higher counts as earned credit; an F does not count towards earned credit and the course must be retaken.
- An I (Incomplete) not removed within 15 days of the following trimester reverts to F.
- The degree requirement for both undergraduate and graduate programmes is a CGPA of 2.00.

Questions
How is UIU GPA calculated?
GPA is the average of your grade points weighted by credits: multiply each course's credits by the grade point for your grade, add these up, and divide by the total credits. Under UIU grading system, A carries 4 grade points on a 4-point scale.
How is UIU CGPA calculated?
CGPA is the average of the grade points of all courses taken so far, weighted by credits.
Is OpenCGPA an official UIU calculator?
No. OpenCGPA is independent and not affiliated with United International University. It applies the rules published in UIU's own documents, linked on this page. Your official result is the one on your grade card.
