GPA = Σ (Credits × Grade point) ÷ Σ Credits
CGPA
CGPA = Σ (Credits × Grade point) over all courses ÷ Σ Credits
Rules the calculator follows
  • UMT grades on a relative basis, so the letter grades have no fixed mark ranges.
  • P (pass) and S (satisfactory) courses count towards the degree but are not used in the CGPA; a W (withdrawal) has no effect on the GPA/CGPA.
  • An undergraduate may repeat a course graded C- or below; both grades appear on the transcript, but only the higher grade is used in the CGPA.
  • In engineering programmes C- is the lowest passing grade.

How is UMT GPA calculated?

GPA is the average of your grade points weighted by credits: multiply each course's credits by the grade point for your grade, add these up, and divide by the total credits. Under Undergraduate handbook 2025-26, A+/A carries 4 grade points on a 4-point scale.

How is UMT CGPA calculated?

CGPA is the average of the grade points of all courses taken so far, weighted by credits.
