How your result is calculated
- WAM = Sum of (mark × credit points of subject) ÷ sum of credit points of subjects, calculated to three decimal places; a 25-point subject weighs twice as much as a 12.5-point subject.
- Every subject with a per cent mark (0–100) counts, including failed subjects; a hurdle fail (NH) is recorded with a mark of 49%.
- Subjects with no per cent mark (pass/fail or completion-only grades), withdrawn subjects and subjects worth 0 credit points are left out.
- Credit granted with a per cent mark counts, but grades from another institution credited as Advanced Standing are not added to the University of Melbourne WAM.
- A continuing subject counts only once its final mark is recorded, then with its full credit points.
- Results from 2020 and second half-year 2021 are left out unless the mark is at least your benchmark WAM; you can ask for all of them to be included.

Questions
How is the UniMelb Average calculated?
Average is the average of your course marks, weighted by credit points: multiply each mark by the course's credit points, add these up and divide by the total credit points. Under Weighted Average Mark (WAM) it is reported out of 100.
Is OpenCGPA an official UniMelb calculator?
