Rules the calculator follows
  • Grades A+ to E are passing grades; F carries 0 points and the subject has to be cleared again.
  • A failed course's credits stay in that semester's total; once it is passed, the new grade replaces the F in that semester's SGPA.
  • YGPA = (odd-semester SGPA × its credits + even-semester SGPA × its credits) ÷ (total credits of both semesters).
  • To pass a year you need grade E or better in every subject and an SGPA of at least 5.0 in each semester.
  • The CGPA is rounded to two decimal places.

B.Tech. students on the AICTE model curriculum from the 2018–19 session (AKTU B.Tech. ordinance 2018–19, revised). Division and CGPA are awarded only after the eighth and final semester, on the combined performance of all eight semesters (six for lateral entry). Upper limits are exclusive as printed: First Division is a CGPA "less than 7.5 and greater than or equal to 6.5"; Second Division is "below 6.5 and greater than or equal to 5.0". Students who abandoned a result and cleared any paper in more than one attempt can still be awarded a division, but not ranks or the Honours degree. The ordinance prints no division for a CGPA below 5.0.
