The official rule

Since Circular Exam/Result/403 of 2026, the University of Mumbai no longer converts CGPA/CGPI to percentage with a formula. Your percentage is the actual percentage of your marks from all semesters (Sem I to Sem VI), worked out by your college; the University issues a letter of conversion percentage only on request.

“While Converting CGPA/CGPI to Percentage, the marks of the students from all Semesters (Sem-I to Sem-VI) should be considered … and the actual percentage based on the students' marks shall be calculated, and the certificate shall be issued accordingly.”
What to do
  1. Ask your college for the conversion: the circular says the conversion process is done by the college.
  2. Your percentage is total marks obtained ÷ total maximum marks across Sem I to Sem VI, × 100 — the calculator below does this.
  3. If you need it on University letterhead, request a letter of conversion percentage; it is issued only on request.
