  • The academic record is (one quarter of your Matric marks + your Intermediate marks + any additional marks) divided by (one quarter of the Matric total + the Intermediate total); PU multiplies it by 75 and adds 25% of your entry-test percentage.
  • If you are waiting for your Intermediate Part-II result, PU uses your Intermediate Part-I (2025) marks and total marks provisionally.
  • Hafiz-e-Quran candidates get 20 additional marks, subject to an interview by the departmental admission committee. Some departments add marks for elective or optional subjects.
  • Two marks are deducted from the academic percentage for each late year since you passed, up to five years.
  • Foreign applicants, children of overseas Pakistanis, applicants on GB, AJK, Sindh, Balochistan and Ex-FATA reserved seats, and blind applicants are exempt from the entry test.
  • Some programmes use different weights, for example academic record only, or an extra drawing/aptitude test or interview; College of Arts & Design programmes need a separate drawing/aptitude test with at least 50%.
  • Regular programmes require you to be no older than 24 on the closing date; self-supporting, replica, afternoon and evening programmes have no age limit.

Questions

How is the PU aggregate calculated?

Academic record (1/4 of Matric + Intermediate) counts 75%, Punjab University admission test counts 25% (Punjab University BS merit (basic criteria with entry test), Academic year 2026-27 admissions (Fall 2026)). Each part is turned into a percentage of its total marks and multiplied by its weight. For example, 88% × 75% = 66, 82% × 25% = 20.5, so the aggregate is 86.50%.

Which formulas does this calculator include?

Punjab University BS merit (basic criteria with entry test) (Academic record (1/4 of Matric + Intermediate) 75%, Punjab University admission test 25%); Punjab University B.Sc. Engineering merit (F.Sc. 67%, Engineering entry test (ECAT, PU-E/PU-M/PU-CSP or NUST) 33%). Pick yours above; each is cited to the body that publishes it.

What are the minimum requirements?

The academic record is (one quarter of your Matric marks + your Intermediate marks + any additional marks) divided by (one quarter of the Matric total + the Intermediate total); PU multiplies it by 75 and adds 25% of your entry-test percentage. Some programmes use different weights, for example academic record only, or an extra drawing/aptitude test or interview; College of Arts & Design programmes need a separate drawing/aptitude test with at least 50%. You need at least 60% marks in F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering or Pre-Medical), a relevant DAE, ICS or A-Level/equivalent, passed in 2024, 2025 or 2026. For Electrical Engineering the minimum entry-test passing mark is 33%.

Can I enter marks instead of percentages?

Yes. Type the marks obtained and the total they are out of (for example 1015 out of 1100); the calculator turns each into a percentage before applying the weights. Leave "out of" empty to type a percentage.

Is this the official PU merit?

No. OpenCGPA is independent. It applies the weights each admitting body published; merit lists and closing aggregates are set by them every year.
